December 1 – In the first game of Monday’s Palarong Atenista volleyball events, the BM Lady Vipers grabbed two straight sets to secure their 25-16 and 25-22 victory against the Computer Studies Lady Chameleons.

The Vipers utilized a combination of heavy offense and disruptive defense en route to an early lead that would eventually give them the comfortable first set victory. In the second set, however, the game was closer. Both teams exchanged blows, with neither team taking a commanding lead. The Chameleons faltered in the end, giving the Vipers a close 3-point win in the final set to take the game.

In the Men’s volleyball game, the Faculty Lions came back from a first set loss to stun the Accountancy Griffins. The first set was close, with the Griffins standing tall at 26-24 after the period.

The Griffins looked to continue to capitalize on the Lions’ weaknesses. No team held a commanding lead in the game. However, the Lions grinded it out in the second period, quickly shifting strategy and taking the set 25-23.

The last set was as closely contested as the first two. The Griffins tried their best on defense, but the Lions proved to have a stronger offense, winning the match 25-20.
