Through powerful spikes and offensive blocks, the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) Tigers won the volleyball semi-final match against the Business and Management (B&M) Vipers, ending the game at 25-18 in the 3rd set.

The second game of the Palaro Men’s Volleyball semi-finals was held at the 7th floor of Martin Hall yesterday, Aug. 5.

During the first set, both teams are obviously determined to grab the championship slot. Even though B&M Team failed to give a few good services, they managed to maintain a good defense system. Thus, slamming the Tigers in their very tight first set, 28-30 .

In the second set, the Vipers were eager to continue what they started. B&M team player Jan Ray Villannueva threw a number of spikes to maintain the Viper’s lead. However, the Tigers gave the Vipers a hard time using net blocks and good service. SEA Team won the second set, 25-22.

The crucial third set made the crowd go crazy cheering for their respective divisions. This time, the energy level difference contributed to each team’s performance. Fortunately for the Tigers, the Vipers were losing their control of the volleyball. SEA concluded the game with an incredible net block, rallying their way to the championship game against the Accountancy Griffins.

SEA players, Nice Bawi and Al Daniel Lopez led the team’s victory for the said game. Lopez gave his comments about their game and hopes for a straight victory in the final game.

“It was a fantastic game. Sana matuloy lang ang staight win ng team hanggang championship. Laban SEA! ” he chanted.

When asked regarding B&M performance for the game, team player Marc Dave Quisido expressed his disappointment.

“The team’s performance was not a hundred percent especially in terms of offense. We could have done better,” Quisido said.

Quisido saluted the winning team and also stated that the SEA Tigers has a big chance to be this year’s Palarong Atenista Men’s Volleyball champions.

The championship game will be held at the same venue, 7th floor Martin Hall on Aug. 13, at 3PM.
