About 416 students were recognized as Dean’s Listers, 164 students president’s listers, and 17 as most outstanding students during the 2015 Gawad Parangal held at the Finster Auditorium last Sept. 16, 2015.
The Gawad Parangal is a yearly event commemorated by the University to award students who meet the University’s standards.
A QPI of 3.4 – 3.7 is required to become a Dean’s Lister. While a President’s Lister must have a QPI within a range of 3.7 – 4.0. The most outstanding students are chosen and deliberated on by their respective division heads according to their overall qualities as a student.
The most outstanding students for the previous school year are Nina Patricia Cesar for the first year level, Melzar Galicia, Jr. for the second year level, Michael Zachary Leyson for the third year level, and Adrianne Kurt Sabate for the fourth year level.
The term ‘Dean’s Lister’ refers to students who achieved the rank of 2nd honors, while the ‘President’s List’ refers to students who ranked among the 1st honors.
University President Fr. Joel Tabora ,SJ encouraged students to view graduation as more than just an avenue for employment.
“We honor you with hope, hoping you will be the ones to utilize the University’s mission and vision,” said Tabora.
