The Finster Auditorium became a sea of multi-coloured bonnets, masks and cheering dragon as the Social Sciences cluster celebrated its orientation last June 21 with the theme, “New beginnings, one family.”

Since the event is colour-coded, the freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors wore green, yellow, red, and blue, respectively, similar to the colours used in high school.

The program began with a AVP of the different social science course and their tag lines were presented, with the Economics course as the, “one degree,” with,” infinite possibilities,” and the Political Science course as , “the course of the brave,” among others.

Then, Dr. Efren Sabado, the Assistant Dean of Social Sciences, led the induction of the new set of Social Science Student Executive Council (SSSEC).

Next, the Social Sciences’ academic policies, course description, subject prerequisites and clubs were presented.

Another AVP, this time from the SAMAHAN Central Board, was presented. “You students are the brains, [and] we take action to what their ideas are,” Patricia May Regino, the SAMAHAN Secretary-General, said in the video. Ralph Robin Tongcua, the SAMAHAN President, finished off the video by saying, “No one represents SAMAHAN better than you.”

In the finale, Fuego Workshop presented its dance recital. The SSSEC officers finished the number.

Before the program drew to a close, hosts Patricia Regino and Stephen Visitacion promoted Social Signs, the official publication of the division, and the official cluster shirt of the Social Sciences.

Members of the faculty who were present in the said event include the Dean of Arts, Fr. Daniel McNamara, Political Science Department Chairperson Dr. Christine Diaz, and Economics Department Chairperson, Atty. Arnold Abejaron.
