The first game of the Men’s Volleyball matchup between the Faculty Lions and the Nursing Panthers drew attention from the crowd as the Lions won a closely-contested game, 2 sets to 1.
Agawin and Bonares of the Panthers were impressive in defeat, tallying enough aces to earn them a victory in the second set. But, last year’s finals MVP Marc Louie Mamac of the Lions was his usual dominating self and sent his team over the hump with a game-deciding ace during the tie breaker in the third set.
The Lions won the first set, 25-14, while the Panthers had the second set, 25-22. The Lions won the third set, 26-24, after Mamac’s game-winning ace.
In the second game, the clash between the Business and Management Vipers and Humanities and Letters Wolves was a lopsided affair which saw the Vipers stifle the Wolves over the course of the first two sets, 25-9 and 25-17, respectively.
On the other side of the complex, the School of Engineering and Architecture Tigers managed to grab the last game as they dominated their matchup against the School of Education Sharks in two sets.
Over the course of the game, the Sharks visibly struggled defending the Tigers’ offensive onslaught.
The first set had a score of 25-13, in favor of the Tigers. And the second set 25-14, still in favor of the Tigers despite the valiant effort put on by the opposition.
