Vivid shades of red and yellow, blue and white, orange, and green filled the Ateneo de Davao University’s Arrupe Hall as students gathered last Jan. 20 for the Miting de Avance for the 2017 SAMAHAN Central Board (SCB) General Elections

Organized by the AdDU Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the event served as another venue for the candidates to voice out their platforms for the respective offices they are running for.

Students were also given the opportunity to ask the candidates questions relevant to the elections, including their previous experience in serving the students, their motivations in running, and their thoughts on pressing issues in the campus.

Throughout the event, a special emphasis on voting wisely was echoed by the contenders and the COMELEC.

The 2017 Miting de Avance was livestreamed through the Ateneo de Davao University’s Facebook page. A playlist of the candidates’ platforms can be found at the AdDU COMELEC’s YouTube page at bit.ly/SCB2017ElectionPlatforms.

Ateneans can cast their ballots and have a say in the future of the student body and the university on January 25-27, 2017 at the Thibault Grounds.

End the silence of the gagged!
