The School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) Tigers plunged as the overall champion of Palarong Atenista 2025: Men’s Singles Swimming, powering through heats to claim six golds.

Despite being a collegiate rookie, SEA Tigers’ Sean de Leon anchored the cluster’s title run through excelling across different categories, clinching the Most Outstanding Swimmer plum.

“Since first time ko po sa college swimming, it’s always been my motivation to have a fighting spirit because like my parents told me sayang naman po kung hindi ko ibigay ang lahat po.”

To compensate for his month-long layoff from pool training before the official competition, de Leon banked on his previous conditioning to finish on top of the field.

“Every day ako nag trai-training nung summer kaya po [kahit] hindi ako nakapag-swim ng one month before palaro.”

Behind the SEA Tigers in the final medal tally, the Business and Management (B&M) Vipers reeled in two gold, four silver, and one bronze to place second overall, while the School of Nursing (SON) Panthers harvested two silver and three bronze medals to lock in third place.

The meet was held at Fr. Malasmas Swimming Pool, Ateneo de Davao University – Matina Campus, last October 25.
