The Business and Management (B&M) Vipers slithered into gold once more in Palarong Atenista 2025: Men’s Basketball, disarming the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) Tigers, 78-56.
With strong defenses prowling the start of the game, the first quarter saw the SEA Tigers’ Seth Laroscain and Jose Guevarra slashing through the B&M Vipers’ intense defenses, leaving the first quarter at a tight 10-9 with three minutes left.
The B&M Vipers soon uncoiled as James Ayonayon’s 2-pointers complemented their team’s blocks and passes, closing the quarter with a solid lead, 23-12.
The game only continued to flare up, with the B&M Vipers’ consistent steals and the SEA Tigers’ misses making up most of the second quarter, resulting in the B&M Vipers’ lead of 37-25 with only two minutes left in the game’s first half.
Combining free throws and half-court passes, the B&M Vipers dominated the remainder of the quarter, with Olev Porol sinking the halftime buzzer-beater, venomously ahead 42-29.
The third quarter saw the SEA Tigers charging ferociously through the B&M Vipers’ formations as they attempted to close the gap, but the B&M Vipers clamped them down with a 56-47 lead.
With a tense final quarter, the B&M Vipers faced multiple fouls as they continued to block the SEA Tigers’ shots, still fangs bared at 61-50 with seven minutes left.
Clock venomously drained as the B&M Vipers shred the SEA Tigers’ clawing rallies, clinching the championship title in the 78-56 rout.
B&M Vipers’ Olev Porol recounted their experience in the semifinal games, emphasizing how they carried over that experience into their championship match.
“Nag-believe kami na mag champion kami… mahirap na yung semifinals namin and nakaya pa namin yun… kahit [nag tie] at [paulit-ulit] ang overtime… ang [importante] mag trust… and maging [confident] lang sa game”
The game concluded with the Business and Management (B&M) Vipers snatching gold, while the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) Tigers settled for silver, and the Computer Studies (CS) Chameleons earned bronze in a previous game against the School of Nursing (SON) Panthers on October 8.
The championship game took place on December 10 at the 4F Martin Hall.
