The Lady Crusaders of Holy Cross Davao College triumphed over the Holy Trinity College (HTC) in the final set of the MPG volleyball game held last October 28, 2017 at the 7th floor of Martin building.

HCDC’s solid team play in both offense and defense gave them an advantage in the first set, winning it with ease. The second set featured a different story as HTC took advantage of their misplays, nabbing the decisive second set.

HTC made a number of service aces which allowed them to snowball their way through the third set 25-20, taking a 2-1 set lead over the Lady Crusaders.

The Lady Crusaders finally got their heads together and took control in the fourth set to set up a final showdown in the fifth and final set.

The deciding round turned to HCDC as their heavy and prescise spikes rendered the HTC defense helpless, ending with a score of 15-12.

Lady Crusader Kristine Garcero explained how they much their team had been gunning for victory.

“Nagpasalamat jud mi kay Lord kay sa among third MPG nakuha na jud namo angchampionship title. Karon pa jud mi na champion kay last year first runner up kami,” she said.

Ateneo de Davao University took home ranked third after sweeping Iligan Medical College 3-0.

Ateneo de Davao University, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Fr. Saturnino Urios University, Holy Cross Davao College, Holy Trinity College, Iligan Medical Center College, La Salle University- Ozamis, Saint Vincent College of Dipolog City, and Xavier University were the nine schools that participated in the volleyball games of the MPG.
