Students gathered at the Roxas Grounds to witness the ribbon cutting to commence the fiesta activities on September 8 and 9.
President Fr. Joel Tabora,S.J, Office of the Student Affairs Director Teresa Eliab, and SAMAHAN President Robin Tongcua lead the said ceremony.
Following the event was the Dance Showdown, where nine divisions showed their talents and danced to OPM hits as they vied for the Championship.
Regarding the mechanics of the competition, four students are to represent each division. They must present a three to four minute dance routine and the music must be OPM.
After the presentation of the nine divisions, the Ateneo Dance Theater had a intermission number while the judges had their evaluations.
Moments after the dance number, winners for this year’s Dance Showdown were announced.
At the end, Accountancy Griffins bagged the championship while the Business and Management Vipers and School of Engineering and Architecture Tigers were declared first runner-up and second runner-up, respectively.
“I’m proud of the Accountancy Department. I am filled with pride and honor that our division won in the Group Dance Showdown. However, I believe that all the contestants are all deserving to win. But, of course, at the end of the day, the important thing is we tried our best,” said Cavin Cabarlo, fourth year Accountancy student.
