The Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) team grabbed gold after defeating the opposing team from St. Mary College of Tagum (SMCT) during Game 6 of the Davao Association of Catholic Schools (DACS) 2019 football tournament.

AdDU earned a staggering win with the score of 9-0.

Throughout the first half, AdDU maintained a series of offensive attacks which gave them the lead 5-0.

Despite their efforts to maintain a defensive stance, SMTC failed to stop the Blue Knights from scoring four more goals in the second half.

Andre John Belono, a 2nd year BS Marketing student, starred in the match with a six-goal streak.

Despite the streak, Belono shared that it was teamwork that made them win.

“The game went well for us. As a team kay nag-cooperate mi together then naggamit ang mga gipang-practice sa training, dili lang individual skills among gi-apply all throughout the DACS, but we play it as a team,” he said.

“We use DACS not as a tournament na para maging proud mi [but as] a tournament para i-correct among mga lapses as a team,” he added.

After the last game, the SMCT football team was hailed as second-best. Meanwhile, Gabriel Taborin College of Davao Foundation, Inc. claimed bronze.
