Ateneo de Davao University’s (AdDU) batch 2018 Salutatorian and Summa Cum Laude Erick Jan Sagot took the second spot of the October 2018 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE) with a rating of 91.17 percent.

With a national passing rate of 25.18 percent, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday evening that only 3,616 out of 14,358 examinees passed the CPALE given this month.

The university’s overall performance had a passing rate of 57.22 percent wherein 103 out of 180 takers passed the exam.

Out of 164 first time takers only 99 successfully passed and out of 16 repeaters only four passed with a passing rate of 60.36 percent and 25 percent, respectively.

Lahaira Amy Reyes of University of Santo Tomas placed first with a rating of 91.83 percent while Patrisha Nahveline Jimenez Cordero from Holy Angel University placed third with 90. 67 percent.

Over the last 11 years, AdDU has produced seven CPALE top placers.

Last year’s top placer was Kneerizza Neca Embrado who ranked sixth with a score of 90.17 percent.
