In commemoration of the 77th University Fiesta, the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) community gathered for ‘Jam in Faith’, a praise and worship celebration encouraging varied forms of faith expression beyond traditional prayer practices.

The event brought together students from various clusters, reminding that connection to God does not need to be confined to solemn or formal rites.

“Maybe a sense of belongingness, maybe finding meaning in what they do, maybe finding direction and purpose, or maybe simply finding friends in the Lord,” Samahan ng mga Mag-aaral ng Pamantasang Ateneo de Davao (SAMAHAN) moderator Lunar Fayloga said.

Fayloga highlighted the religious diversity in the student body and aimed to put forth an inter-faith community with different avenues in worship, from upbeat praise music, acoustic performances, moments of silence, and communal singing.

“The kind of worship that they experience is somewhat attuned to their interests… We have different expressions, some would like just to pray in a quiet way, sometimes they can connect more into this kind of setup,” he stated.

He added that the event was grounded in the Ignatian value of finding God in all things, recognizing that there are multiple ways of connecting with the Almighty.

“Finding God in all things… we are not just specifically saying that there is only one path to finding God, there are many paths, and what happened tonight is one among the many that we would like for the youth… to be able to connect to it,” Fayloga added.

SAMAHAN President Hannah Aquino noted that the celebration aligned with the university’s Fortiores 2030 strategic plan, which envisions a community “stronger in faith.”

“With Fortiores 2030… it means stronger in faith. This is part of our initiative in SAMAHAN to bring together everyone…” Aquino explained.

The 77th Ateneo fiesta was held on August 14, 2025, on the 4th floor of Martin Hall, Ateneo de Davao University.
