In a battle of wit and knowledge, D’jame, a team composed of seven students aced the championship for the Trivia Wars in the 71st Ateneo Fiesta yesterday at the Finster Auditorium.

This year’s test of knowledge revolved around controversial issues in the showbiz industry which included Julia Baretto’s instagram posts, You Do Note statement, and the Rapper Queen Tulfo video.

After three rounds of the competition, the group of Rayjenn Charlotte Ferriols, Daisyrie Jane Estoque, Marvey Clyde Fuentes, Aubrey John Calunsag, Kent Jules Ellica, and John Ervin Go from the Accountancy department, along with Economics student Carlos Gue was hailed champions.

“(It feels) Really satisfying considering that we joined the contest last year and only placed second runner up,” Ferriols said.

She also pointed out that they did not know they will win until the announcement of winners.

“Nag-choke kasi kami sa easy round dahil sa ten points na fill in the blanks ng statement ni Julia Baretto pero nakabawi parin. Strong ang spirit ng team, especially ng team name. D’jame: It’s in the bag,” she added.

She also emphasized that the team was not pressured to win but “the mere fantasy of getting all registration fees and finally winning the trivia wars while having fun” encouraged them to actually win.

Aside from the grand prize of P2,000, the D’jame also took home all monetary amount of accumulated fees from group registrations.

On the other hand, Team Gaus landed first runner up while Team Bulabots bagged second runner up.
