Showcasing their brand of playfulness and precision using various K-Pop music, the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) Tigers once again grab the championship for this year’s Group Dance Showdown (GDS).

This year, the GDS toured Ateneans around the world as performers of the different clusters grooved according to the specific country, serving as the theme for their performance.

Some of the countries portrayed included USA, South Africa, Brazil and many more.

The Business and Management (BM) Vipers were hailed as first runner-ups with a US street dance evolution-inspired performance. The Accountancy Griffins, on the other hand, made their come-back as they won the second-runner up for the said competition. The all-girl Griffins quartet danced to the beat of Brazil.

One of the judges expressed how they had a hard time choosing the winners.

“As a judge, medyo pressure lang talaga dahil lahat ng groups magagaling. They have their own unique style kaya nahirapan din kami sa pagpili ng mananalo. Nevertheless, congratulations to all the dancers!” he said.

One of Metro Davao’s promising dance crews, The Rejects, led the opening salvo together with the participants. They also graced the GDS with their intermission number.

The winning SEA tigers namely; Amirhassan Macaumbos, Paolo Peña, Ged Collado and Ibrahim Parcasio, performed their winning routine at the end of the program.

Last year, the SEA Tigers were also hailed as champions in the Group Dance Showdown, followed by the BM Vipers and the Social Sciences Dragons.

End the silence of the gagged!
