The Campus Clubs Organization (CCO) launched last Monday the CCO Gimikan, a ‘chill-out place’ where students could enjoy games and win prizes.

This year’s CCO Gimikan’s theme is ‘Pixeland’ and is located at the Arrupe Hall.

Students who were members of the participating clubs were granted with a free pass, while non-members were charged with a registration fee of 10 pesos. With their tickets, the students were able to gain access to 15 booths ranging from Tekken Tournaments to Harana Booths.

In his special message during the ribbon cutting ceremony, CCO Chairperson Jorjani Sinsuat expressed his appreciation to all the club presidents who extended their support for the event.

Moreover, he stressed that the Gimikan was launched to provide the students with fun activities for the duration of the fiesta.

“Basically, Gimikan is the alternative tambayan ng ating mga students during the fiesta. Instead of going somewhere else na wala namang productivity na makukuha,  we hope na they can enjoy what we have prepared for them,” Sinsuat expressed.

When asked about this year’s theme, Sinsuat also remarked that ‘Pixeland’ was chosen in the hope of reaching out to more students who might feel a sense of connection with characters like Super Mario and Pacman, who most likely played a part in the students’ childhood.

“I think this is a really good way of showcasing the clubs here in AdDU. I really like how they have activities like these kay mahatagan og chance na mag enjoy din ang ibang students na let’s say, dili sporty, or walay lain maapilan na events during the fiesta,” Jirah Curada, a 5th year Accountancy student, commented.

As an annual fiesta event, the CCO Gimikan was made possible by university clubs that set up fund raising activities which are at the same time entertaining for the students.

CCO Gimikan will be open until Wednesday, August 15.
