All nine clusters of the Ateneo de Davao University witnessed the opening of the 67th Ateneo Fiesta, at the Martin Hall this morning.

The fiesta celebration was said to “commemorate the Lady of the Assumption in looking back, and looking forward with gratitude for the betterment of Mindanao and the world,” SAMAHAN Central Board President Michael Zachary Leyson said.

To officially open the Fiesta, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was headed by Leyson with Academic Vice President Fr. Gabriel Jose Gonzalez, and Director of Student Affairs Theresa Salaver-Eliab.

“This year’s fiesta highlights Philippine culture. That’s what makes this year’s fiesta unique,” Leyson said.

The theme for this year’s fiesta is, “Inang Maria, Gabay sa Pagbabalik-tanaw at Paglalakbay Tungo sa Pagkamit ng Kapayapaan sa Lipunan at Mindanao.”

“I’m looking forward to this year’s fiesta. Grabe kalingaw, maski opening ug Group Dance Showdown pa lang,” said Lawrence Igar, a Chemical Engineering student.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the banners created by each cluster were revealed.
