Luke Meinzen, U.S. Embassy – Manila, will be discussing about the role of media and government on social media.

Luke Meinzen is a Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Manila. Before joining the Foreign Service, he moonlighted as an editor with a small publisher. He also wrote book reviews for a social enterprise, travel pieces for literary journals, and essays for publications like Gourmet and Salon.com. He has also worked on international volunteer and exchange programs with Australian Red Cross and the United States Peace Corps. Luke managed education programs for Mongolia’s first and strongest pro-democracy non-profit organization after spending two years living and teaching in the Gobi Desert. Luke has a B.A.in English Literature from the University of Michigan and a deep interest in using new forms of media to augment traditional communication.
