The University Social Science (SS) cluster organized a Zumba Fitness, held at Felcris Centrale last June 27, for the benefit of the Mindanao Migrants Center for Empowering Actions, Inc. (MMCEA).

Due to heavy rainfall, the participants had to transfer from the open space to the upper parking lot of the mall.

The Zumba instructors from the Zumba Fitness Davao City Group led the participants fun dance moves and well received encouragement.

Prizes were also given at the end of the event, such as the best smile award, most energetic award, early bird award, last person to register award and best outfit.

Alex Christian Namoca, a second year AB International Studies student said that experiencing Zumba for the first time is fun and exciting.

“This was my first time [to join] a group of people doing Zumba. It was really relaxing and it made me feel energetic. It [also] relieved my body pain especially because I [had] PE Class last night (June 26).”

Meanwhile, MMCEA is a nongovernment organization that offers psychosocial counselling, legal services and organizes events for OFWs and their families.
