Aspiring candidates for the SAMAHAN Central Board general elections gathered at D401-403 to attend COMELEC’s discernment activity and filing for candidacy, January 10.

COMELEC Chairperson Margaret Chua and legal head Krisha Reyes reviewed the guidelines for this year’s election. Aspiring candidates were given a chance to raise their concerns and suggestions to the guidelines. COMELEC also reminded candidates about their completion of requirements.

COMELEC pushes for a dynamic response from Ateneans through its wide information dissemination and activities like the presidential debate that will encourage students for an active participation this election.

“Mas i-push natin ang mga students to participate like sa social media and events for them not to be misinformed and for them to be able to vote wisely,” Chua said.

The election campaign period stared January 11, Sunday.
