Poets and artists performed their various literary pieces before the crowd during the LitOrgy: Seven Seers at the Red Rooster Rooftop Bar last Aug. 29 and 30.

The LitOrgy, now on its seventh installment, is a literary event that gathers various writers and performers around the city to promote literature and art through spoken word poetry, performance arts, and music.

At around 7:00 PM, over a hundred people gathered at the venue to witness the said event, which was conducted in two batches. For each batch, seven performers were featured, performing their literary pieces which discussed several perspectives such as love, depression, and culture.

The audience was given a chance to also perform during the “Open-Mic Session.”

“[LitOrgy] was an avenue for young writers and first-time poets to expand their horizons,” Luis Foronda, an Ateneo student who witnessed the event, expressed.

The LitOrgy was hosted by the Young Davao Writers, a community of young writers based in Davao dedicated to the cause of cultivating the culture of literature in the City.
