Intense rallies, thrilled faces, and a roaring crowd–this was the scene last Sunday at the Fr. Martinez Sports Complex at the Ateneo de Davao University Matina campus as teams from different divisions fought in the men’s volleyball games.

The Faculty Lions and the School of Engineering and Architecture Tigers were engaged in a close fight which saw the Lions emerge victorious 2 sets to 1. The Lions won the tightly-contested game 25-23 on the first set, 23-25 on the second, and 25-23 on the third.

The Business and Management Vipers were also in attendance and were in full display of their almost impenetrable defense, sweeping the match against the Accountancy Griffins with scores of 25-11 on the first set, and 25-15 on the second set.

On the other side of the court, the Social Sciences Dragons proved themselves worthy as they won their matchup against the School of Education. The beginning of the game was a close fight with scores of 25-23 in favor of the Dragons. On the second set, the Dragons found some separation and won the game with scores of 25-17.

In the last game of the morning, the Computer Studies Chameleons came back from a 0-1 deficit to win their contest against the Natural Science and Mathematics Falcons. With scores of 21-25 on the first set, 25-22 on the second and 25-19 on the third, the Chameleons beat the Falcons 2 sets to 1.

The CS Chameleons were overjoyed by their win. “Lami sa feeling [ang madaog] kay among gitraining wala nasayang, nag-teamwork mi and makita nimo among hard work. Naa mi mga goals na gusto maabtan –na makabawi mi sa among mga pildi last year. Exciting sa feeling,” said Ludwig Sean Manansala, team captain of the Chameleons.

End the silence of the gagged!
