Jonald Fenecios of the Faculty Lions and Princess Jewel Dorothy Rodriguez of the School of Engineering and Architecture Tigers were hailed champions in the Men’s and Women’s Chess tournament for the 2014 Palarong Atenista held at J301 today.

In the Men’s division, players from School of Engineering and Architecture, Computer Studies, Faculty, and Accountancy all garnered spots to the semi-finals after beating their respective opponents in the preliminary matches. In the Women’s division, players from Computer Studies, Humanities and Letters, Accountancy, and School of Engineering and Architecture moved on to the next round.

The games concluded with the following results:

Women’s Division:
Champion: Princess Jewel Dorothy Rodriguez (School of Engineering and Architecture)
1st Runner Up: Jennylou Natap (Humanities and Letters Division)
2nd Runner Up: Chandy Basa (Computer Studies Division)
3rd RunnerUp: Ma. Ellen Mae Dumagan (Accountancy Division)

Men’s Division:
Champion: Jonald Fenecios (Faculty)
1st Runner Up: Nyll Gabrylle Gascon (Accountancy Division)
2nd Runner Up: Ralph Miguel Reyes (School of Engineering and Architecture)
3rd Runner Up: Erwin Jay Grande (Computer Studies Division)
