The final preliminary games for the 2014 Palarong Atenista Basketball tournament took place last Monday, December 8. The Engineering and Architecture Lady Tigers faced off against the School of Nursing Lady Panthers, while the Business and Management Vipers went against the Faculty Lions.

During the first game, the Lady Panthers awed the crowd with their stellar defense, accumulating multiple steals and blocks early in the game. However, those were not enough to keep the Lady Tigers from scoring, with EA eventually winning 44-16.

The Lady Tigers’ highest scorer was Navidad, who scored 12 points for her team. The Panthers’ highest scorer, Joan Odi, gave her team 6 points.

The second game saw the Vipers and the Lions go head to head for the final semifinals berth in Bracket B. The Vipers applied pressure defense early on, limiting the scoring attempts of the Lions. The Vipers won the game handily, 74-42.

Corrales had 10 points for the Vipers, leading the team in scoring. On the other side, Elegino, Lizada, and Caminade scored 6 points each for the Lions.
