A blowout finish was in the books for the Accountancy Griffins as they routed the Social Sciences Dragons, 32-6, in the first game of the Women’s Basketball tournament held at the AdDU Annex Monday afternoon.

The Griffins exerted pressure defense against the Dragons all throughout the game, which led to several Dragon turnovers. Their stifling defense only allowed the Dragons 6 points the entire game.

Cienna Joyce Lopez was the only player to score for the Dragons, netting all of the team’s six points.

On the Griffins’ side, Bea dela Cruz led the team in scoring with eight points.

In the succeeding game, the Engineering and Architecture Tigers ripped the Computer Science Chameleons in the first game of the Men’s Basketball tournament, 83-26.

Al Joshua Damag led all scorers with 16 points on 6/12 shooting, including 2 three-pointers. JCarrlovic Tarranza added 11 points on 3/6 shooting, while Ray Roger Pasaylo and Alvin Santos, Jr. each added 10 points.

Sameer Macacua paced the Chameleons with a statsheet-stuffing nine points on 4/11 shooting, seven rebounds and three blocked shots.
