The opening of the school fiesta was marked with a Marian Procession organized by the Campus Ministry together with the Ateneo Inter-Religious Organizations.

Students walked from the Open Field to the Covered Court. It was followed by the Holy Eucharist in honor of our Lady of the Assumption that was presided by Rev. Fr. Joel E. Tabora, S.J. together with Fr. Kim Lachica, S.J. , Fr.Renato C. Ocampo, S.J. , Fr. Ramon Prudencio Toledo, S.J. , and Fr. Daniel McNamara, S.J.

Also, the blessing of athletes, sport officials, dancers and all the participants in the school fiesta was included during the mass.

Mr. Lunar Tan Fayloga, Theology Division Chairperson, said that the students are not just celebrating a mere fiesta, but are celebrating a religious event that builds a community not only with others, but also with God and with Mary as the model.

“Contests, games and other activities are just means of celebrating fiesta but the reason for all of this is to build a community,” He added.
