A Mass for the Departed was celebrated earlier today, Thursday morning, at the Dotterweich Park of the Ateneo de Davao University.

Hundreds of students, teachers, and staff gathered and participated in the Holy Mass.

The main presider of the Mass was Father Charlie Cenzon, S.J. together with Father Daniel McNamara, S.J., Father Rene Ocampo, S.J., and Father Denny Toledo, S.J.

During the Homily, Father Cenzon explained about the importance of remembering the dead.

“We gather today for two things: to remember and to pray for our dear departed brothers and sisters. First, we remember because we have a lot to be thankful for to those who have gone before us. We owe our life to our parents, grandparents, and ancestors. We won’t be here on this earth without them,” Father Cenzon said.

“And secondly, in line with our faith practices, we pray for them. We pray that they are in peace and that they are in a better place,” the main presider added.
