December 8 – A Holy Mass was held in celebration of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception earlier today, Monday morning, at the Dotterweich Park of the Ateneo de Davao University.

Hundreds of students, teachers, and staff gathered and participated in the Eucharistic celebration.
The main presider of the Mass was Father Daniel McNamara, S.J. together with Father Rene Ocampo, S.J. and Father Denny Toledo, S.J.

During the Homily, Father McNamara explained about the importance of celebrating the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

“For Mary, she has been given to the human race as the example of what is means to be a woman, a human being of feminine gender, just as her Son has given to the human race the example of what it means to be a man, a human being of masculine gender,” Father McNamara said.

“And so how Mary was led that example? She was born by the infallible degree of hope without original sin. But what does that mean? It means she was born with parents who had a clear relationship with God. She understands that everyone is called to be closer to God,” the main presider added.
