The Table Tennis competition of Palaro 2017 was held at the 6th floor of Martin building last Tuesday, August 15.

The room was filled with colorful jerseys as players from each cluster battled for the championships in four categories: Men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles and women’s doubles.

The ACC Griffins grabbed the championship title for all the categories except the women’s singles.  This was taken by Jann Napsika De Vera who proudly represented the SS Dragons.

De Vera said that it was thanks to the cheers and support of her fellow dragons that she won against the ACC griffins 4-1.

Meanwhile, Junius Junsay from the ACC division dominated the men’s singles against the CS Chameleons with his impressive smashes. The game ended with a score of 4-1.

Unlike the other categories, the women’s doubles was a nail-biting game as both teams struggled with deuces. The ACC griffins, however, did not let go of the championship title as they soared above the BM vipers 4-3.

The astounding teamwork of Gennard Angeles and Frederick Mojado Jr. earned the griffins their third championship title against the SEA tigers. The men’s doubles concluded with a score of 4-1.

When asked about the factors that led to their victory, Angeles replied that it was mostly because of their drive to win. “Gi sulit jud namo ang training. Walay adlaw sa training nga nag chill lang mi. We trained as if we were already playing for intrams.”

End the silence of the gagged!
